Description

In the tradition of Amblin classics where fantastical events occur in the most unexpected places, Jack Black and two-time Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett star in The House with a Clock in Its Walls. The magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro), who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town's sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches. Based on the beloved children's classic book.

Would normally watch Cate Blanchett in anything, but this is insulting
  • Should not be rated PG!

Too dark for us! Black magic (the little boy cuts himself!), demons, zombies, etc. We had to turn it off. Wish it was rated PG-13, I would have looked it up first.
  • Not worth it.

The trailer shows this film to be something of a fun family film. It’s actually the complete opposite. Lots of demonic activity and foul language make it not suitable for a PG audience. It overall was a massive disappointment. Even with Jack Black in it, it was still horrible. It would easily give a kid nightmares. It should’ve been rated PG-13. Glad I didn’t see it in theaters!

The story was great and the cast was perfect. The young actor was adorable and has real talent. I am nowhere near square or prude but there are a couple of scenes that were just too graphic regarding a demon and his behavior. For kids over the age of 12 is best with adult company for any needed explanation.

I watched this with my fiancé... we have no idea what this movie was about... I mean seriously... no idea. We had a few beers... then Jack Black turned into a baby and I accused him of putting acid in my beer. WHAT ON EARTH WAS THIS MOVIE ABOUT!!!!??? Not a cult classic... and to bring in the decoder ring from "A Christmas Story"... WHAT is up with this MOVIE!???

This movie is very dark and demonic. It’s disturbing and I don’t recommend anyone watching it. The only good thing is Jack Black.

There’s a lot of dark and demonic aspects of this movie. Blood rituals with a demon; satanic tones throughout the film. THIS IS NOT A KID’S MOVIE! Definitely not rated properly as PG either. Check online for in-depth content reviews. There’s a lot of seriously disturbing stuff in the film.
