Description

Dani and Christian are a young American couple with a relationship on the brink of falling apart. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, a grieving Dani invites herself to join Christian and his friends on a trip to a once-in-a-lifetime midsummer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in a land of eternal sunlight takes a sinister turn when the insular villagers invite their guests to partake in festivities that render the pastoral paradise increasingly unnerving and viscerally disturbing. From the visionary mind of Ari Aster comes a dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.

    Just breathtaking.
  • Why does Apple make it so hard to watch the extended cut?

The 5 stars are for the film and it’s filmmakers.. As for the title and how Apple decided to handle their exclusive rights to the Director’s Cut... The Extended Version / Director’s Cut of MidSommar was advertised as an exclusive to AppleTV+ but in order to take advantage of this purchase it can only be found in the “Extras” section, which isn’t accessible through the smartTV app or streaming devices. The disclaimer: “ iTunes extras aren’t available in the Apple TV App on SmartTVs and streaming devices” can be found on the support page for AppleTV. Since I don’t own an AppleTV and I didn’t want to watch it on my phone, I had watch it through iTunes on my pc and use an hdmi cord to watch it on my TV. Which means I’m not even using the Apple+ TV app to view this exclusive “extra” as the only version available on that app (for purchase) is the theatrical version which can be viewed complimentary with Amazon Prime. So what was the point of exclusively having this director/extended cut on AppleTV+ if users cannot use the app to watch it?
  • Horrific Waste of Time

This movie has NO point whatsoever & demonstrates zero common sense of the ‘Visiting’ characters as if they had the cognition of a child. A horrific waste of Time. Superb Performances, it’s a shame that they wasted their talent on this sewage.

Guess you either love or hate this movie. For me and my friends we didn’t enjoy it and thought it was too slow for the most part, it tries to wow you with certain horrible or wacky events and elements but falls short. The screaming and crying was over the top and over acted, just ridiculous acting. Ultimate break up movie? Not so much. He was drugged and didn’t deserve what happened, but it’s a movie and something, kind of interesting, thankfully happened, eventually. If you really want to see it it’s free on PRIME.

It’s kinda the same basic concept of wicker man. It’s definitely slow and will make you hate anthropology students even more than you already do. The creepiest part is that it could happen in real life and you would know until it’s too late.

By far the best horror movie Ive seen, to have it set in basically complete daylight, made it all the more unique!! Disturbing beginning and an in depth story. You catch more things everytime you watch it, and the realistic portrayal of a pretty nasty relationship. Overall creepy and super interesting. Cant wait to buy the DVD!!!!

Midsommar is one of the most weridest and traumatic expriences i seen in a while rather than being scary and horror it devols that trope and beats a whole different level with random scars and brutal and graphic scenes makes Midsommar i a fun and mind twisted ride

Save your time and energy for something better - perhaps paint drying. This had been so hyped, I was really excited to watch it. I ended up watching it twice to make sure I wasn't being harsh. It's just awful. I was convinced that this would bring something to the horror genre, but it didn't deliver a full package for me. It looked pretty, but the overall story arc and acting was not well executed. It feels like Florence Pugh was cast because they couldn't afford Brie Larson - and it shows.
  • Don’t do this

Seriously, what a snooze fest. Don’t do this to yourself. Probably the most boring movie I have ever seen. I cannot think of any good points to this movie. How it’s listed as horror beyond me. Go watch Bambi.
