"Stronger together." That's what Marisol (guest star Valerie Cruz) tells her daughters, firebrand social justice warrior Melanie "Mel" Vera (Melonie Diaz), and her sister, fun-loving Maggie (Sarah Jeffery), about their family. Mel is a graduate student in the women's studies department her mother heads at Hilltowne University; Maggie is a freshman considering sorority rush (to Mel's amused dismay) and going "on" again with her on-again/off-again boyfriend, Brian (guest star Charlie Gillespie). But then, a shocking tragedy shatters their world and threatens their sibling bond: Marisol dies in a horrifying accident. Or was it? Three months later, we find Mel unable to accept the official explanation of their mother's death, while Maggie accuses her of being morbidly obsessed. And then, another huge shock shows up at their front door: they have an older sister – brilliant geneticist Macy (Madeleine Mantock), whom their mother kept a secret all these years! Macy is new in town and doesn't know a soul (except for Galvin (Ser'Darius Blain), the cute fellow scientist who's been showing her around). Macy is eager to connect with Mel and Maggie, but Mel can't handle another shock, and shuts her out. With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others' thoughts and Macy has telekinetic powers. But don't worry, there's a perfectly reasonable explanation...or so says Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans) – who as far as they know is the officious new chair of the women's studies department - when he gathers the three sisters together to reveal they're actually powerful witches, as was their mother. And he's not really a professor, he's their "Whitelighter," a witch's advisor and guide! Not only that, but Mel was right: their mother's death was no accident – she was murdered by unknown dark forces. It's a lot to take in, but ultimately the sisters accept their new destiny as The Charmed Ones...and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among of whom killed their mother. With the Power of Three, they are stronger together...even if they have no idea what they're really up against.

  • The Good and the Wicked

Wow… some INCELs really seem to be threatened by this show and its message. Oh my! Furthermore, there are the core fans of the original – who for legit or lesser reasons – seem to be on the fence. That I understand… yes, it would have been better if the original cast was involved somehow, the effects seem to be on par with the budget unfortunately, and the message could be adressed through action more than through social commentary dialogues, agreed. But that is forgetting that the original show came with its own problems as well. On the other hand, it is an unapologetic feminist show, with lots of representation, the actors have great chemistry (there is, of course, room for growth), while you feel the love of detail. So, I hope that in season 2 they will be able to find their balance – more story/character driven with less effects (hence with better effects); but, never-the-less, it is an important show to have since it is effective as a reboot in a time where we crave the nostalgia of days gone by with the sass of a feminist point a view and current political commentary.
  • Unwatchable

Unlikeable characters. Not fun. Bad writing. More about agenda than storytelling. The original was corny but far more entertaining than this show is. I recommend trying the Roswell reboot, it’s far better than this in every way.
  • Beyond trash

Where do I start… Issue is beyond trash. They are trying so hard like I don’t even know where to begin. Is it the way they are whitelighter orbs or the fact that the sisters don’t even look like. I wish I could give it a negative star. The charmed original is the best so you better cancel this trash
  • Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

I am back to being an official, Charmed Fan. It took a while for me to get into the show because of so many mistakes in the beginning episode’s stunts, acting, CVXF, plotline, and VFX; however, each episode, keep getting better and better! The true mark of "LONGEVITY!" I want to work on this set.... Director CMack
  • Didn’t expect to like it, but I do!

I am a huge fan of the original... and expected to hate this. Currently on episode 10-ish. The acting has gotten way better since the pilot... they just needed time to find their groove. I actually like it.. a lot! The sisters become more and more connected with each episode and they are slowly filling in the backstory of the girls and their mother’s death. I’ll always love the original, but find this to have its own Charm as well. Glad they renewed for season 2!
  • Suprisingly good

    By JulesG1993
Im not going to lie, the show did not start off strong. I thought it had bad writing and when comapring it to the original it did not stand up, but i gave it a chance and it was well worth it. The show does pick up around episode 9 and it gets really good. would reccommend, which is suprising considering when i first heard of the reboot i was not pleased. good luck, hope this helps
  • Keep your crazy out of my tv.

I wish this show was good. This show just tries too hard, and falls short every single time. The acting is horrible. I’m not interested in the characters at all. The stories are just- too much? Does that make sense? Like I get it, trying to be relevant. But to be honest, I’m tired of all the crap. Just give me some normal tv without some agenda or another being shoved down my throat. So tired of all this crazy liberal crap in tv. I want to escape, not watch more.
  • Better than the original...though the acting could be better!

    By Mystic Lord of Greyskull
People are going to hate me for saying it but it’s true! I’ll always love the original, but this has better concept better special effects and over all better everything. Well the acting has gotten better, but that’s ok. The last episode alone made me love this version better than the original. In the original show was very black and white about the evil is evil good is good. As we all know it’s not that cut and dry.
  • Love!!!!!

Awesome take on a classic! I enjoy both shows. I love how modern this version is and how timeless the original is! Hopefully this show will be around for a long time. I’ll definitely be tuning in.
  • Great Show

I was skeptical at first but I have grown to like the new approach to Charmed. I hope they get another season. I'm an original fan of Charmed and I think this show is just as good. Give it a chance and don't live in the past.
