  • Liked it more than I thought I would!

First off, I'm Asian and my parents were immigrants, but I'm not 100% sold on the idea of remaking my favorite 90s shows willy nilly just to include more minority representation. (I'm a bigger fan of creating new content to accomplish that.) That being said, I was not on the train for the Charmed remake. This one, though, was surprisingly thoughtful. Recent politics aside, the idea of paralleling the experiences of human undocumented immigrants with alien ones is just genius and makes sense from a storytelling perspective. Both kinds of "aliens" experience vilification and persecution and misunderstanding. Just from a literary standpoint, it's a fun parallel to use to explore the meaning of "alien"! Plus, the character adjustments here in this remake actually make sense, such as the character who is now gay. Check your politics at the door and you might actually like it.
  • I am also a fan of the original and like the reboot so far, however...

The original Roswell is timeless. I feel that the reboot is trying to send out a political message instead of entertaining. A word of advice for the writers...stop! I’m afraid the show isn’t going to make it to another season if it continues. Maybe that’s the point? 🤔

I loved the original show! I own & still watch it every now and then. I checked out the new show hoping it would be just as good. Sadly, it is not! The CW propaganda machine is in full swing with this show. It’s sad too because CW seems to be bent on ruining all the shows I used to love. I watch TV to get away from life. You know, to suspend reality for awhile and relax. But this show, and many others on the CW, are bent on keeping politics at the forefront. The politics aren’t the only issue with this show. The acting is bad, the dialogue is cheesy, and the switching up the original roles but leaving the names the same is a bit weird. If you liked the original then steer clear of this train wreck.
  • Fan of the Original AND the Reboot!!!

Great cast, love the changes from the original. As a fan of the original, it's nice to see diversity this time around <3
  • Terrible

Forget that when I watch a TV show or movie it is for entertainment, not to be spoon fed their political ideas. That goes from Republican to Democratc ideas. Just leave them out!! This show is like WIll and Grace in that, from the start of the show, they are making political statements. Agree or not, they don't belong in entertainment. If I want to hear someones poltical views I'll turn the talking heads of CNN NBC, or Fox on. Side note, I wonder how shows with political statements so prevelant do in foreign markets, who have no idea what the political messages mean?
  • Just started, but I like it

I’ve stepped out of the fandom talk of any tv show I like because people tend to be either overly critical or watching the show for reasons the show is not intended for and therefore are frustrated. And it frustrates me, when all I wanna do is enjoy a thing. I was a fan of the original Roswell when it was on, but as I have tried to rewatch it in recent years, it’s really highlighted how incredibly cheesy it was. In middle school/high school it was perfect for what it was for me, with minor issues. This is great because it aged up the characters, which I love because I too have now aged haha. I like all of the characters more in this show than in the old one. Max is more likable, michaels rebellion seems more realistic than just teenage pouts, Isabel is already more fun and adult, liz has always been likable, but this one is more true to the book, I love what they’ve done with Alex’s character (and the Michael/Alex thing!). Maria seems great but we haven’t got to se much of her in the first episode. Kyle is also more immediately likeable! The characters are smarter and aging them up gives the show a lot more freedom than when they were in high school! It’s still got a bit of cheese and the acting (which is still 10 times better than the original!!) isn’t the greatest (it’s not bad though!), but that seems to be somewhat standard for CW shows so it’s not distracting for me. If you’re a fan of the original like me and have outgrown any rewatches of the old, this new one I think will spark your interest, it did for me! If you aren’t, but enjoy fun, somewhat cheesy, somewhat overly dramatic, romance and sci-fi, then you’ll like this. I’m hoping that they fix some of the issues I had with the old (skin storyline wasn’t the best - meet the dupes, please no. And i don’t want Tess, but if they bring her in please do better!). Anyways. Just wanted to give my take! It was fun! I liked the first episode. Definitely interested to see where they take this.
  • Roswell gets woke!

Took a good show and loaded it down with unnecessary propaganda. Just tell a good story, and leave the agenda out of it.
  • Why not?

It’s not so bad, as everyone says. It has a potential and the cast is really good. Hope it will bring some cool twists and magnificence romances.
  • Gag

    Total garbage. Watch the original
  • CW in the habit of PC crap preaching

Won't watch as CW seems to inbed their shows with all their political agenda, whatever happened to honest entertainment and good writing, it all is politically motivated
